tonic and lime

I'm not an avid supporter of pop. Occasionally I'll grab a coke if I'm in need of something cold, but I'm more content with lemonade or iced tea. Perhaps that's the reason I love our new drink staple — it quenches my longing for something chilled while still slaking my desire for a fresh, fruity beverage. My mom introduced this drink to us after her trip to Hilton Head. The tangy and slightly bitter taste is doubly refreshing on a humid day, and the sugary undertone will satisfy any sweet tooth.
tonic and lime
Our drink was bereft of blueberries due to some fruit lovers in the house, but you can substitute peaches or any other berries to create variations on the beverage. Two tablespoons of sugar adds a sweet accent to the drink, but for those who want a more bitter taste, one is perfectly acceptable. On the flipside, use three tablespoons if you're craving something especially saccharine.

Directions
Chop the strawberries and any other fruit or berries that you may have. Pour the sugar into a bowl and dump the fruit in the container. Thoroughly stir the fruit into the sugar until the mixture reaches a syrupy consistency.
tonic and lime
Pour two and a half cups of Tonic Water into a protein shaker. Cut the ends off of the limes and lemons, then quarter them and squeeze the juices into the tonic water. After squeezing, put the citruses into the water as well. Take the berry mixture and pour it into the water. Put the lid on and shake it until the water is pink (if using strawberries) and foamy.

Put several ice cubes in a glass, pour the tonic and lime drink, and enjoy.

ps. like the new design? I've been itching for a redesign for a bit now and have been planning it for several weeks. Make sure to check out the updated about me and faq page!
