While it wasn't officially our first snow (the first was a few weeks ago), and it's just a light dusting, something about waking up to a world covered in white is one of my favorite things in the world. Within minutes, I can hear the flurry of activity, as the boys pull on hats and zip up jackets. Sam stands at the window, watching the white flakes falling, and cries, "snow!" Breakfast is warm on the stove, cups of hot cocoa or coffee with mini candycanes in them sit on the table, and we're all clustered in the main level, socks on our feet and still wearing pajamas as it snows.
How perfect that it snowed on the first of December. I have a feeling that this month is going to be a good one. I can't wait for trips downtown, snowdays, making Christmas cookies, getting together with family, picking out and decorating the tree, seeing my siblings faces on Christmas morning, the reading of the Christmas story, caroling, and much, much more. A joyfilled season celebrating the birth of Jesus.
