put together a smallish film a few months ago and forgot to share it until now.

Woodland 2013 // Film
Woodland 2013 from Hannah Nicole on Vimeo.
And we'll hate what we've lost but we'll love what we find
And I'm feeling fine, we've made it to the coastline
A smallish film of sorts, all iPhone videos from last week at the lake.
I wish I had taken more, but treasuring the ones I have.
Perfectly messy, imperfectly right.
51 weeks until we're back again.

A Perhaps Hand // Short Film.

A PERHAPS HAND. from Hannah Nicole on Vimeo.
Exploring the possibilities of story in short films lately and I'm excited.
I'm learning to step out of my comfort zone and just create.
I've told stories for as long as I can remember, in so many different ways.
And now, here is another.
Inspired by tangible glimpses of spring and the homesickness that comes from what is left behind.
A Perhaps Hand.

fall came early to minnesota and it be windy dontchya know.

Plain and simple, I want to tell stories through my photos. Not in a cliche, trendy, or "make my life look amazing" way, but in an honest way. A true taste of real life. My heart is to tell stories that matter. Stories of people who see the ordinary beauty in the everyday, who joyfully celebrate the good in the hard, who adventure and bless and love extravagantly and live simply and genuinely. Simple stories that matter, because the people living them matter. This is just a small story of an autumn afternoon when the wind chapped our faces but the leaves flew wonderfully. No bells and whistles, no strings attached, just honest images of our real life.
And that's the kind of story I want to tell.

morning // a short film
Early morning is a secret favorite of mine. I love the quiet chill of dawn as everything uncurls from sleep. The soft rays of sun that the curtains diffuse into slanting lines brimming with gold. Listening to the hush and stillness of daybreak, poised to speak, may perhaps be my favorite. I woke up a little early today and took the chance to make a short film on our mornings. It's imperfect but it's my first film (and I daresay it won't be my last) so I love it. Enjoy, and happy friday! x
