spring break thankful thoughts

grateful for...
golden hour // little boys in jammies // sammy kisses // the hope of rain // warm weather // bare feet in grass // the smell of spring // a healthy family // fresh fruit and veggies // running in the early morning // friends who email, skype, write, and get-together // work // gluten free goodness //and the unfailing love and faithfulness of Christ

This week has been a good one. Spring break has treated us well, and the weather couldn't have made the past few days more perfect. Picnics and walks to the park, dinner on the deck, running outside in the early morning, an abundance of free time, and the promise of spring. It's been positively sunny, in more ways than one. Stars shone brighter in the cool night, and sun burned warmer in the day. I heard birds and sunk my feet into damp ground and watched the sun sink. We've baked desserts reminiscent of lazy summer days and threw on shorts and t-shirts and opened windows wide. It's been wonderful. Happy Friday! xo

thankful thoughts

January is the slowest month for me. I'm itching to get out and make some photos, but the negative twenty degree or so temperatures are not so kind to my fingers (or face, for that matter). I've been busy with work, school, and just life. And it's been good. So this week (or mid-week, as it is) I'm thankful for...

lazy, quiet Tuesdays
gluten free cake and cupcakes
snow falling softly
poetry and words
watching my sisters dance
candles burning
watching movies with my brothers
listening to sammy laugh
running in the early morning (inside -- I'm not that crazy. hah!)
my moleskine, almost filled, and the new one waiting
productive days
spaghetti for dinner
my church family
design jobs
planning crazy amazing things for this summer
going to bed early for once
beyond exciting new projects
fernweh
and...
listening to my grandpa tell stories from when he was younger

what are you grateful for?

thankful thoughts

I'm thankful for...
simple scrambled egg lunches
multi-colored and patterned plastic plates
little feet and jammied kiddos
our worn wooden table
lazy late-afternoon lunches
noonday sun streaming in through the window
light and shadows
freckly-faced, copper-haired little boys
my family

Because Christmas is in a few days and the new year is rapidly approaching, I'm taking some time away from the computer. However, I have some thankful thoughts posts coming up, as well as a 2011 wrap-up, and our Christmas Tree Decorating day. I'm pretty much swamped with photos and stories from the past few days and I can't wait to share just a few snippets from this season. What are you grateful for?
